What to expect at your first exercise physiology appointment
Your first visit is relaxed, one-on-one and at your pace. We get to know you, see how you move, and you leave with a clear plan. Nothing is forced, and family are welcome.

- Your NDIS plan or aged care package details
- Your glasses, hearing aids and walking aid

What happens during your first visit?
- 01
Welcome
We say hello, get you comfortable and go through a short intake form.
- 02
We talk
We ask about your health, medications, any pain or past injuries, and what you want to get back to doing.
- 03
We see how you move
We do simple, gentle checks of your strength, balance and walking. We may use our strength testing equipment, so your progress becomes a number you can track. Nothing is forced, and you can stop at any time.
- 04
You leave with a plan
We agree on clear goals, show you your first exercises, and talk about how often to see you and whether clinic or home suits you better.
How do we measure your progress?
We don't guess. We test your strength with calibrated testing equipment at your first visit and re-test as you go, so you and your doctor can see exactly what's changing.
A real example: one client's [TEST] strength over 11 weeks, measured on our testing equipment. Individual results vary.
- Left and right sides tested separately, so we can spot imbalances
- Re-tested regularly, so you can see the change
- Results included in your progress reports to your GP or referrer

Updates for your care team
With your permission, we send a report to your GP, specialist, support coordinator or referrer.

How much does a first visit cost?
It depends on how you're funded. NDIS, DVA, aged care packages and WorkCover usually cover sessions. Medicare pays a rebate with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan, and most private health funds pay a rebate too. Ask us and we'll tell you exactly what you'll pay before you book.
Need to reschedule?
Life happens. If you can't make it, please let us know at least 24 hours before your appointment so we can offer the time to someone else.
